Become a Civic Fellow
The Hands On Atlanta Civic Leadership Program (CLP), powered by Constellation, is a dynamic leadership development initiative designed to cultivate the next generation of changemakers in metro Atlanta. Through a blend of interactive workshops, targeted trainings, and hands-on community engagement, Civic Fellows gain real-world experience while making a tangible impact.
WHY YOU SHOULD JOIN
Civic Fellows are placed with nonprofit partners where they lead impactful volunteer service projects, recruit and manage volunteers, and cultivate strong relationships with community organizations. In addition to their site placements, Fellows contribute to major outreach efforts such as Hands On Atlanta Week and MLK Service Weekend, support Discovery events, and fundraise to sustain the program’s mission.
Throughout the program, Fellows strengthen their leadership capacity by developing practical skills in project management, conflict resolution, team building, and fundraising, preparing them to be effective, equity-driven leaders in Atlanta’s civic sector.

With this program you truly see where your work is making a difference and a positive impact in the community. Not only did I gain the confidence to delegate and empower others to lead, but I was able to learn and refresh volunteer management skills to help me in my day job and with other volunteer leadership positions as well. “I am honored and proud to be a graduate of Hands On Atlanta’s Civic Leadership Program. CLP taught me to be a well-rounded leader in volunteerism by providing training and hands-on experience with a local organization. As a civic fellow, we received training in fundraising, implicit bias & privilege, and board responsibilities. We also had fun socials to get to know the other civic fellows better. I learned to be more comfortable with fundraising efforts and leading large groups of volunteers. I felt at home with other volunteers who are just as dedicated to serving our community as I am and I’m excited to use my skills from CLP to continue volunteering around Atlanta.””
