Hands On Atlanta Week Makes Big Impact

For the 2023 edition of Hands On Atlanta Week, presented by Delta Air Lines, more than 2,500 volunteers supported over 50 nonprofits and schools at 250 projects! The focus for the week prioritized projects around our three strategic impact areas - Food Security, Educational Equity and Environmental Sustainability. Check out all the impact in this recap.

Thousands of volunteers pack 1.5 million meals ...

Over the course of just 2 days, close to 6,000 volunteers came together to pack almost 1.5 million meals that will be distributed here locally in Metro Atlanta. Hands On Atlanta was there with support staff volunteers to ensure the Million Meal Pack at State Farm Arena and the 9/11 Day of Remembrance at Mercedes-Benz Stadium hit their meal packing goals. Make the Assist | Help1 million meals get packed

The Atlanta Hawks are rallying the Atlanta community to pack more than 1 million meals for Georgia families facing food insecurity. The Million Meal Pack happens July 16 at State Farm Arena and we need about 200 Support Staff volunteers to help ensure the meals get packed so families get fed.

Make a Difference with DECA

DECA is a nonprofit student association that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management, and they will be hosting their annual International Career Development Conference (ICDC) in Atlanta in April. DECA is bringing 20,000 high school students to Atlanta for the event, and they need more than 1,000 VOLUNTEERS to participate as judges for career-related competitive events at the Georgia World Congress Center on April 24 and/or 25.

Hands On Atlanta Week Hopes to Inspire Unity Across Metro Atlanta

Hands On Atlanta Week will feature over 200 unique and meaningful ways Atlantans can unite in service from Oct. 3-10, 2020. Participants can expect traditional in-person volunteer projects, engaging virtual projects and more during Atlanta’s largest week of service.

Equitable Dinners: Lift Every Voice (Virtual)

You're invited to join Equitable Dinners on Aug. 16 for a frank talk about race equity and housing, especially during a pandemic crisis. Enjoy a short play written by Dana Stringer, followed by intimate conversations in small groups.

Equitable Dinners: Lift Every Voice is a free, live, monthly conversation series featuring art, experts, and an opportunity to connect with your neighbors locally and around the world to talk about race and equity. 

Join us one Sunday a month from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm through September 2020, we will hear from a new expert, watch a 10-minute play written for the event, and join together in conversation. 

Needed: Facilitators and Virtual Hosts

Facilitators help guide the conversation and virtual hosts call each person that has registered to welcome them to the movement. We will train both facilitators and hosts. Please consider volunteering!

Host a Civic Dinner and Bridge the Racial Divide

We’re teaming up with The King Center, Civic Dinners and Mailchimp to help launch a national conversation around Bridging the Racial Divide, with a goal of getting 1,000 Civic Dinners to happen all across the United States! While the campaign officially kicks-off on Sunday, January 20 at our Signature Sunday Supper, we’re hoping to secure 53 Civic Dinners in Atlanta through February, in honor of the 53rd edition of [insert alternative name for a really big, huge and awesome football game here].
