Hands On Atlanta is partnering with the Chomp & Stomp, Cabbagetown's annual festival benefitting the neighborhood's parks, green spaces and community center! We need volunteers to staff two Welcome Centers over the course of the day. Proceeds from the Chomp and Stomp festival benefit the parks and public spaces in historic and diverse Cabbagetown, Atlanta’s first Landmark Historic District. The festival is 100% volunteer managed and run. Volunteers will be working at welcome centers, which sell chili spoons (“ticket” to festival) and tokens for beer and mixed drinks.

TRULY LIVING WELL: GARDEN THERAPY

Saturday, October 19 From 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM (Atlanta)

Truly Living Well Center for Natural Urban Agriculture is committed to bringing good food, good health and well-being to Atlanta’s urban community by feeding people where they live. They aim to serve economically disadvantaged and traditionally underserved communities in Atlanta by showing and educating people of all ages how to grow their own food and by creating a welcoming space for people to gather. Volunteers are a huge part of Truly Living Well’s success by helping with necessary tasks around the urban farm and helping run interactive community events. At a typical volunteer opportunity, volunteers will be working on the urban farm doing any one of a variety of tasks such as setting up new areas of the farm and gardens, taking care of plants, or setting up for events.
